Entryway Style and Practicality: Pocket Doors!!!!

Moving right along from yesterday's post about barn renovations, and the considering the popularity of barn doors, here is a more, shall we say, refined version of that track door idea:
Pocket doors. Putting a pocket door into a doorway is a great style decision. But it's excellent practical uses make it something to consider beyond that. I can make a huge difference in traffic flow and space management. Oh, and did  say they look great? They look great!

One important warning: if you put pocket doors in, remember that although they are not loud , they are not quiet, either. Pocket doors that open onto a bedroom may be a disturbance to some.

I had to include these interior sliding glass doors that were
featured in House Beautiful. They are not technically pocket
doors at all, but they serve the same purpose and they are Fantastic

Speaking of Fantastic, tomorrow is MARDI GRAS, most notably( to me) in New Orleans!!!!

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Happy Mardi Gras, Y'all!
