Creative Room Ideas

Summer takes a toll on routines that keep us on track with projects, diets, blogs...but on this dark, stormy, tropical afternoon in the middle of July, I have enjoyed catching up on errands, scheduling Dr appts and rsvp-ing wedding events, doing laundry, paying bills, and last but NOT least, spotting these treasures online:

 Keep it cool, everyone!
Have a great day

The Sun, The Stars, The Style

Gazing at the stars, the sun, the planets...
really puts everything into perspective, don't you think?
And the inspiration!
Well, how can one resist pointing out all of the delightful interior design connections and constellations that have been inspired by our fascination with the skies?!
 See what I mean? :

The stunning array ( or Array) of telescopes:

Thomas Pheasant's Constellation mirror:

Planet - like:

Oh -- before I continue --
You may want to take note of this
Venus-Across-The-Sun Event:
On June 5th and 6th ( see chart),
Venus will become a spot moving across the sun --  not often seen.

On June 5, 6, 2012 :

Ok, back to Design from the skies:

Worthy of a "Frame it and Hang it" directive:

Constellation-inspired bed design:

Very starry!

Constellation Chandelier:

As looking up to the skies (conveniently, for me!) set the tone for today's images,
so we see every part of our world reflected in our interior designs. Cool, huh!

Have a great day and Be sure to catch the very cool, astronomical
Venus trip across the Sun occurrence!

Safety Gates

Traditional, sturdy, pleasing safety:

For simpler, modern tastes, Munchkin LOFT Infant Safety Gate:

I include this next one to make a point--
There is no such thing as "ugly" when it comes to child safety:
Nothing particularly stylish here. The beauty is in the safety.

But if you do it,  isn't this better?

Don't forget the deck!

If there is the slightest chance that a child can access it,
the pool needs its own safety fence,
even if the backyard is fenced.
You know that, of course.

Perfect for my ShihTzu, but my mother's crazy large dogs could totally jump over this...

... so, we are gertting her this sturdy, tall, attractive solution:
This gorgeous gate is for dogs, not babies.

Safety is Beautiful, and Good Design can
make it  fit right in to your home.

Have a happy, safe, secure day!
