Beautiful Silver + Gold Designs

"Her godmother simply touched her with her wand, and, at the same moment, her clothes were turned into cloth of gold and silver, all decked with jewels." (Charles Perrault...Cinderella)

Ah, Cinderella...
gleaming golds and silvers...

They do bring a bit of shine and drama,
 those Silvers and Golds!

Have a Shiny Day!

SOFA / COUCH COMMUNICATIONS

Make a statement, say something, with the choice of sofa/couch.

Antique Swedish sofa.
The lesson:
"Antique" is not necessarily a synonym for "in good taste".

Comfort, sophistication:

The communication issue raised when choosing a sofa isn't too serious unless the message it sends bothers those that have to live with it.Anyway, whatever you "say" with your sofa can be changed with fabric, paint, a throw, and/or  pillows!

So have a Very good day!

Headboard Love

The other day on HGTV's  Interior Therapy, I saw Jeff Lewis create a headboard design that disguised the fact that he had lowered the height of the bed in a redesigned master bedroom. The wife had wanted the mattress to be nice and high. The husband wanted it as low to the ground as  possible. Jeff's headboard solution made everyone happy.
It was a simple "wow" moment.

It's not a Raindrops On Roses kind of love,
but these are a few of my favorite headboard ideas:

       This one is a D-I-Y:
D-I-Y instructions here

Especially in that last image, I think it's amazing
how headboards can really make a room.

I  highly recommend the new Bravo TV show, Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis !

Have a great day!

PS -- Dick Clark, who died yesterday, introduced the world of Rock and Roll to millions... He was always grateful, always hardworking, and always kind. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family. Today, I think a lot of us feel that he was family...

The Indoor Awning: A Great Canopy Bed Style

Viewing these images may just motivate you to think about
putting a canopy over a bed;  at least, I hope you'll think about it ~!
The canopy style that I am fixated on reminds me
of the cozy, protected feel of a village shop's sidewalk awning.
Peaks, crown, valences, gauzy draping, and fabric slopes are all variations of that idea...
This kind of canopy can be as simple or as fabulous as you wish...great for any room, any style.

I love the idea of an actual striped awning over a bed!

Amazing how simple, gauzy fabric can add so much,
completely changing the mood of a room:

Simple, banded drapes and valence over a bed
(or, in this shot, interestingly, a bathtub!)
gives a clean, calm elegance to a room:

lovely...

Martin Lawrence Bullard :

The hardware holding up the fabric from the ceiling,
and the addition of a mirror is a great touch I see a lot:

So cute, and by the way, where did that cool pendant come from?

This is such a well-designed room!

g o r g e o u s:

A full canopy prevents some air circulation  and may tend to close up a room. This drapery/valence canopy solution keeps the cozy, but solves those other issues.
...I always wish swing arm lamps were installed over
the left and right corners of the head of the bed...

Pure style, great design:

Wow. Perfection would be a slightly taller headboard:

OOH! Classique!

Such a timeless room (BearHill Interiors) :

If you can find some gorgeous fabric on eBay or someplace, look what you can do!:

One of these styles could be perfect for you~
Have a wonderful day!
