Barcelona = STYLE

Leaving Baton Rouge after almost 3 weeks...
so many wonderful people here....new gorgeous architecture is going up,
 and it's hot but great...
Let's all hope the crazy crime wave abates quickly...Heading home to Atlanta  to reintroduce myself to my family...I am so excited! Future non-vacation trips away will be much shorter.
Anyway...
Here is one more not-at-home-post, about beloved Barcelona chairs...
Individuality, creativity and smart design are added to
a wonderful energy in the many designs from or about Barcelona~
I have always wanted the chairs featured in these rooms...

Take a look inside....

So wonderful....
have a great day!

The Best Hallways EVER

Don't you think that the  hallway is too often under-appreciated or poorly used? It is a space for display, collections, storage, and fun, and it's amazing when well done. These below are terrific! (Some of these are nicer than the actual rooms around them!)
Enjoy~

This last one is Iris Apfel's hallway in NYC, and it is my favorite: 19th century dog paintings, gorgeous bookcases, lamps, mirrors, carpet, wainscoting...it's just wonderful.

Have a great day!

MORE Exquisite Rooms: Natural Glamour

Oh, Joy!
These rooms are so gorgeous...the genius, the beauty, is in the apparent smplicity of design and color.

As someone who loves to read ( with a nice cup of tea nearby!) this is the way to do it. These books are, wonderfully, from the 18th and 19th century  I get really undone by books covered in plain brown paper -- unless you can really see what you have.

 That clock is really interesting...antique?

I don't know why the sight of a perfectly designed ( or  perfectly UNdesigned) room does this to me, but it feels like a small rush of energy, and it's fun...
I hope it was fun for you~~

Have an energetic day!!

Visual Delight, Dust Bust

I love this shelving, open look..

...but who the heck wants to deal with dusting and rinsing of dishes before each use?

Have a stress-free day!
