Welcome! Amidst the clutter of countless online interior design images, I have found smart, stylish, simple (and some not-so-simple) room designs. They were lovingly collected to admire,to inspire, and to share with you. I hope you find great inspiration and even greater enjoyment. xo Valerie

Classic Wooden Beam Ideas
Many spaces
( like maybe a tiny 60's or 70's ranch house ...?)
get a "Lift" with
opened up attic space, and
solid, stabilizing beams.
How about a garage?
But even if you don't want or have the space to raise to roof, so to speak,
(perhaps you're feeling nautical?)
a low-ish ceiling with beams hits the style mark beautifully:
Painted white, they still manage to cozy up this gorgeous kitchen:
Here's a creative beam curve:
Farmhouse/Barn style:
Here is a really beautiful version of beams in this Gorgeous Hacienda:
Have a wonderful, beamish day!

Kitchen Style: Open Shelving
Open-shelving PRO: It looks great and it's practical because it's easy to see what you have and forces you not to just shove things away into hiding.
Open-shelving CON: Dust =extra work, like dusting each item - and around the items - to get the shelf clean, rinsing off each item before use. Can look cluttered.
The pros and cons are even in my book, and the winner is always
compromise:
put up as much open shelving as you can comfortably maintain.
If you have the self-discipline to keep the colors and items
as orderly as these then go for this pretty, stylish kitchen:
Here the discipline is far less rigid and
the look is an updated, smart, friendly look:
I absolutely LOVE this stove shelf for the kitchen:
Open shelving for a pretty collection of tea-time vessels:
Charming:
Glass-fronted cabinets are another option...
Have a great day!

So Perfect, Some Preppie
Clean, simple design, with at least a hint of the preppy style is a great look.
It does not require a huge income, but it really helps -- especially if you
are looking for something like an authentic beach or rocky shores connection...
Simple, classic, and comfortable are key words for this look:
A modern take:
Eloise at the Plaza chic:
A Southern take:
A New England take:
Black and Tan...perfect anywhere!

The formal in these rooms are a relaxed version.
They make one feel so content.
Even if you don't have the Cape Cod shore or
the huge weathered clapboard Homestead with pool,
you can still pull this look off.
That's why I adore it.
Have a great day!
