Ruffles, Pleats + Flounce: from Clothing to Interiors

Ruffles are a Style Keeper ~

Lovely long or short, gently flared or tightly pleated ...starting at the waistline of a jacket, blouse or dress... Jason Wu, Vera Wang + others had peplum ruffles, tight and loose pleats, folds and waves on the fashion runway this year.

So it makes sense that it is now more often reflected on furniture upholstery, in the dressy French pleats of curtains, on pillows, chairs... even on plates, bowls and lampshades..!

  

  

Ruffles are quite femnine these days, even on a grey suit -- or chair. Isn't that chair amazing?

Here is a beautiful idea to try~

Foiled surfaces, gold or silver leaf .... bring sparkle and elegance into interior design. 

 Women's dresses have it too, and there is some D-I-Y info below for creating your own versions.
