...Here's a rather COMPLICATED D-I-Y from 1870,
which came about as result of
the plague 400 years earlier:

 Known at the time as
"The Great Mortality", "The Black Death" and "The Great Pestilence",
the 14th century Plague led to ... an overabundance of bones.
They had to be stored in All Saints' Chapel
after the local monastery's graveyard began to overflow .
40,000 skeletons;
 Frantisek Rint arranged the  bones...
~
The chandelier is made with at least one of every bone in the human body.

Some of the skulls are resting on the knees of trumpet-playing angels...

Doesn't that make you HUNGRY?!?

Frighteningly Fascinating Designs

Frighteningly Fascinating is very hard to say quickly 3 times in a row. Just so you know.

These beautiful images are tinged, more or less, with a slightly edgy or menacing flair --  certainly fascinating,  perfectly suitable for any time of year, but especially good as Halloween approaches!

The most MENACING item in my home right now is all of that TEMPTING
Halloween CANDY, which threatens to ruin my waistline, and, oh yeah, my health.
 Scary.
What's the most menacing item in your home?

Boo~!

Design Secrets of ... Candy Corn!

The lowly candy corn kernel is sweet, chewy, and unremarkable as a holiday treat. However, it has hidden talents that have not been properly acknowledged as the
oddly versatile source of Holiday Decor and Delight
 that it is.

Herewith, evidence that Candy Corn deserves more Respect:

 Candy Corn Martini
 Ingredients

  • ½ cup of candy corns
  • 1 ½ cups of vodka
  • 2 ounces orange liqueur
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 large egg white

Directions
First, infuse the vodka with the candy corns. To do this, mash the candy corns in an airtight container and add
the vodka. Let the vodka mixture sit at room temperature for at least three hours (preferably overnight). When the vodka is ready, strain out the candy corn pieces and place mixture into a glass until ready to serve.
To assemble the cocktail, add 2 oz. of the infused vodka, the orange liquor, lemon juice, and egg white to a shaker. Shake well and pour into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a few candy corns at the bottom of the glass.~~~

Pairs well with "fun-size" candy bars.

Halloween is in 2 weeks, y'all!
Let's get started APPRECIATING candy corn!
